Just know that if you hide, it doesn’t go away

As I work through trauma of late diagnosed AuDHD, it feels like I’m making some breakthroughs. For instance, I don’t really like socialising with a lot of people on social media anymore. I believe it’s because before there was always something to gain from social platforms, it was a joy talking to people, instead it has become tiring, with people always trying to have a “gotcha” moment with you. That and more than two years ago I still needed to build up a network, I don’t have to do that anymore.

That paired with so much idea stealing, article stealing and the sort of environment certain demographics have set up in the Football Social Media/Media sphere where you can’t speak out about bullies, misinformation or even the aforementioned stealing without being heckled publicly (you know where a simple direct message could’ve sufficed), I don’t see a point anymore. And with the way Twitter is going, it’s making it an easy decision to not really post my stuff anymore. Why should I explain tactics and etc. to people who are just going to steal or discredit me. This doesn’t give me joy anymore, but home does, working in football does, and I’m doing well there for once. My time is better utilised elsewhere. (Also the fucking state of Media and SM if I’m saying the football world is less stressful and less sexist etc.)

So I’m planning on running a “reduced service” on Twitter. I’ll still be available to contact, my work will be there, my memes obviously will be there, if I want to write on Medium, it’ll be here…
